Europe and the mobility of its cultural boundаry
Summary
As the social and cultural relations between Europe and Bulgaria during the latter’s period of National Revival became more complicated, the process of circumscribing mental borders around the modern world was increasingly augmented. The article studies the emphasis on the distinguishing features of identification and estrangement, which are essential to the self-identification of the Bulgarian nation. Prominence is given to the vatiable concept of modern Europe and the flexibility of its borders when it comes to values such as lifestyle, education, industrial prosperity, moral and religious virtues.
